This pot is turned from a piece of silver maple was obtained from one of my neighbor’s trees that had to be taken down. The legs and body of the pot all came from a single piece of wood so the legs are not added. The entire piece is finished with four coats of a tung oil finish that is food safe when dry. This is primarily a display piece but can be used for snacks-is is a bit awkward as a serving dish. If is used, it should be hand washed in warm soapy water, rinsed and dried. It is not microwavable and is not dishwasher safe. Also, it should not be used for overnight food storage.
